Custom Keyboards Boost System
The boost button multiplies kicks and cash. x3 Boost Unlock is the Robux pass that raises the ceiling.
Boost in Custom Keyboards is an in-game button that multiplies your kick output or cash earnings for a duration. The default cap is x1.5. The x3 Boost Unlock gamepass at 149 Robux raises that cap to x3. This page explains how the boost button works, what the unlock pass does, and when to use boost in the session order.
If you expected a published multiplier formula, the developers have not released one. Treat boost as a tap-to-amplify action, not a calculated economy.
How boost works
The boost button appears in the HUD during play. Tapping it activates a temporary multiplier. The exact duration and multiplier depend on:
- Whether x3 Boost Unlock is owned.
- The current boost level and any active codes.
Without the pass: boost maxes at x1.5. With x3 Boost Unlock: boost maxes at x3.
The x3 pass does not auto-activate boost. You still tap the button. The pass only raises the ceiling.
x3 Boost Unlock (149 Robux)
Official text from Kick a Keyboard: “Upgrades your max boost from x1.5 to x3.”
Buy this pass when:
- You already use the boost button regularly.
- The x1.5 cap feels limiting during intensive kick sessions.
- 149 Robux does not compete with your Kick Power or gamepasses budget.
Skip this pass if:
- You rarely tap boost.
- You forget the button exists during normal play.
- The extra multiplier does not change your session outcome.
When to use boost
Boost is most valuable during:
- Concentrated kick sessions — When you are rolling caps for 20+ minutes straight, boost amplifies the output.
- Before using a code with luck — Redeem 650LIKES for 2x Luck, then activate boost to match the rare-hunting window.
- After rebirth — When your board is reset and every kick counts toward rebuilding.
- Event windows — During Boba, boost through the kick grind while event pickups are live.
Do not activate boost and then go AFK. The multiplier is for active kicks, not for idle time.
Boost and upgrade priority
From upgrade priority, boost-related spending sits low:
- Kick Power / keyboard.
- Slots.
- Train speed.
- Upgrade station.
- Rebirth when ready.
- Cosmetics and skin plots.
- x3 Boost Unlock — only if you already tap boost.
A 149 Robux pass that raises a button ceiling is optional. The free x1.5 boost already exists. x3 is an amplification for active players, not a required purchase.
Boost versus Kick Power
Kick Power changes the quality of each roll. Boost multiplies the action you are already taking. They stack, but they are different:
- Kick Power — Better rolls, higher base output.
- Boost — More kicks or more cash per kick for a limited time.
Fund Kick Power first. Add boost only when the base loop is strong enough that the multiplier actually matters.
Codes and boost
Codes such as 650LIKES grant 2x Kick Power for 20 minutes. This is separate from the boost button. A code multiplier and the boost button can stack. Read the HUD to confirm how they interact.
Frequently Asked Questions
Codes, Kick Power, trading, and Boba answers in one place.
Does x3 Boost Unlock give x3 permanently?
No. It raises the cap from x1.5 to x3. You still tap the button to activate it.
Should I buy x3 Boost Unlock as my first pass?
No. Buy x2 Kick Power (199 Robux) first. Kick Power changes every roll; boost only multiplies the kicks you are already taking.
Can I use boost while AFK?
Boost requires active button taps or a sustained action. It is not a passive multiplier for idle time.
Do codes stack with boost?
Yes. Codes that grant x2 Kick Power and boost both active can stack. Read the HUD income number to confirm.
Is boost useful during events?
Yes. If you are grinding kicks during Boba or a like-goal window, boost amplifies that session. Redeem codes first so the multiplier applies to extra rolls.
